No, I don't have a Specter update--I've been a bit too tired lately for that. I've working a lot lately and barely have time to write. But I did manage to proof some old chapters of Finding Consort, so you have that to enjoy. I've updated all the way to the new chapter 8 so there's only two more chapters in between the old chapters and the last few chapters, 13 and 14. I'm hoping to update the whole story, so that every chapter is in the same format and properly numbered, then finally, FINALLY finish it. No idea when that's going to take place, but the plan is to do that and put out two chapters of Specter this month. Some of you may have noticed that I didn't update last month. Sorry. But since it's already the 12th, I guess that means I better get cracking. More on updates later.

So right now I'm building a bunch of stuff in the Specter universe. I would really like some new community lots and other sets for the hood, not to mention I need some houses and such for the upcoming events. So while I build, I'd thought I share some previews of my progress. It's weird; I never really felt like much of a builder, but I guess the longer you play this game, the more you get into different aspects of the game. And for me, that's building. My houses sucked when I first started this game. To this day, I actually prefer renovating someone else's lot then starting my own from scratch. It's cuz I'm not so good at landscaping or designing interesting roofs. But I actually feel like I can share these pics with you so here ya go. First up is a place called Embershade. It's going to be my new vamp hangout for Aerith. I had originally planned to use House of Fallen Leaves in Downtown, but even though I renovated it, it still feels cramped. So I thought I'd try again from scratch this time. Keeping in my mind I'd need to take a lot of pictures here, I tried to make sure the place was more open, with a bunch of space to move around in and corners for my sims to sit down and chat in. That's downstairs; lately when I'm building I've been experimenting with lots of different bright colors and seeing how they mesh together. I think it turned out nice and the pink adds a nice pop of color--definitely not your average vamp living room. The library, kitchen, and dining room, the last of which will probably be the scenes of many vamp meetings. To my mind, what Aerith doesn't like about the House of Fallen Leaves is that it feels old and cramped. Aerith would want an young and fresh and open vibe, not that old Victorian vampire stereotype--so that's why there's a pop of color in every room and hopefully things look clean and modern too. These are the upstairs rooms; a sort of foyer/parlor and some individual bedrooms. Aerith's is the only one I tricked out, cuz I anticipate shooting some scenes there, but the rest are all simple rooms for the Tricous; I thought they should all get one, being part of the council and all, but, since I don't think I'll ever actually take pics in there, I didn't think they needed to be huge rooms or much decorated. And that's the house for now. Can't wait to start taking pics in it. The outside's kinda blah, but the inside looks good to me and I'm really proud of it. Next is the new legacy house, since each generation is going to get their own. It won't be used for a while but I thought I'd get a jump on it anyway. While I like the house I put Asher in, it's really just too small. I thought the original legacy lot was too huge, so I moved Asher and co. to a smaller place, but I really misjudged the size. I'd like to have a bit more room this generation and for each kid to get their own bedroom. So here's what I came up with so far. I'm still figuring out the details though. As long as I have a layout and the main rooms done, I'm in good shape; I can tailor bedrooms to the sims later. This here is the floor plan of the first floor; again I'm not too far along with this building--my gen 2 heir is still in college after all, but I think the layout's looking nice. That's going to be the living room in the middle, and if you can't tell by the stuff in them, that's the dining room, kitchen, and an office on the left, from bottom to top. Sometimes when I'm building I'll semi-stage a room to figure out the spacing and remember the layout. The two small rooms on the top left are going to be bathrooms (I can tell by the size; all my bathrooms are either 4x3 or 3x3--I never understood the people who had huge square bathrooms the size of bedrooms and living rooms.) And the other two empty rooms will probably be a bedroom and nursery or library. Below is the upstairs which are all bedrooms and bathrooms with the middle for random entertainment and hobby crap, etc. I always like to see how other simmers build there houses, especially houses they actually play in, so I thought I'd share mine. I have to say I think the house is going to turn out awesome. The layout looks good right now, but I guess I won't actually know until I start playing in it. Next is Rose club. I'm calling it Edge because the building is based on a lot of diagonals. I'm hoping that won't turn out to bite me later cuz I did mean for it to be functional. This is the first floor, with the stage for Rose and a bar and bathrooms on the other side. It's simple; I was kinda tired at this point, so there's not too much fuss on this floor. And I'm just now realizing that the color scheme for Rose's club is rose. Or pink. I honestly can't recall if that was intentional, but it looks good to me, so, whatevs. The next few pics are of the upstairs, which has a studio apartment and bathroom. The story in my head is that Rose or Heath would be living over the club and working there. I really like the black detailing/polished floors/brick walls look, and I think it turned out nice. This lot here is a brand spanking new community lot for my uni hood. I honestly got tired of the old ones. I plan to do a bunch of community lots for uni but this here is all for now; it's a rec center called The U Bar cuz it's shaped like a U. There's lots of garden squares and benches for talk scenes and let's face it, I have a lot of those. Below is a mini lab, if you can call it that; it's only two computers. I put in a stage so any aspirating rock stars can rock out and of course a cafe to sit and drink while you listen. The upstairs (below) is a study center with another coffee stand in case I some sims need to do some part-time work and bathrooms, fully equipped with showers in case a sim decides she doesn't want to go home. Oh and there's pool tables out on the deck outside. Last but not least--the current legacy lot. Now that all the kids are gone, I can renovate and make the bedrooms bigger. Below is Asher's new bedroom and bathroom, now on the first floor. There would be a picture of the new living room too, but I can't seem to find it.Sigh. That always happens to me--just when I need something, it can't be found. Next is upstairs. Here's the hallway: And here's Rose's room. Can you tell she's spoiled? She even has an adjoining bathroom. Finally there's the nursery for Seth. There hasn't been a baby in the house for a while so I redesigned the upstairs so that Seth and Rose get two huge rooms all to themselves. And of course, here's the final bathroom. I have to say, I think everything turned out nice. I can't wait to see them in the story and I'm sure you can't either--because that'll mean an update. Well, the next chapter's coming along; hopefully something in the next week. Bye for now.
